How to Pick A Pillow on The Doctors

Choose pillow
We're all starting to get a little sleepy so we're here in our special bedroom with sleep specialist Michael Bruce who's helping us pick out the right pillow so not only do we sleep better but it's good for our health and it's actually pretty confusing I just asked you Dre exactly what do I do so the first thing we have to determine is what side do you sleep on are you a back sleeper are you a side sleeper so even in the store you can figure this out because there are certain size pillows they're going to be better for one person than another so you told me that you were a back sleeper back sleeper so what you would do is you would stand as though your back was against a wall okay much like you'd be on a mattress and you would take the pillow and you would put it behind your head if your eyes are facing directly straight forward you're not your chin isn't moving towards your chest or your eyes aren't up your eyes are parallel to the floor that means it is a good sized pillow for you versus being pretty exactly then it's too much fill or then it's not enough if you were a side sleeper then we would put it on your side and we would look for any neck strain so if you felt any strain on your neck here as though your head were tilted okay or too high then you would know that that pillow actually had too much fill in it then there's also all these specialty pillows there are so many to choose from there are there's a lot of different pillows and I brought three different types of pillows here today that are pretty interesting that are on the market now so we brought in our pillow panel over here to be able to panel check things out so our first one is a visco foam pillow okay and this one has got some very interesting properties to it so I want you to check it out so it has that Center cut right so there's a cut out of the center in the middle of it so your head would excel right into that perfect so yeah and it has a memory foam right so what's great about that is your head would lean back and somebody would put you into a little bit of neck flexion which in principle should help if you're a snore if you're if you're more a mouth snore obviously executive cure snoring short especially if you're a nasal snore but it may definitely help right for dr. Sears we've got something with a little bit more neck support so this is kind of more of a hybrid so what we've got here is there's a stitch across the horizon which will allow for more fill here and better support across the neck but a lot of people don't like that feel of memory foam all over their head so it's a lot light and fluffy up here the final pillow this is oh I so cool so this is for you oh I so cool so what's great about fellow is it always stays cool that's making yeah it's pretty amazing so this thing oh this is nice this pillow it's got very specific now children this pillow has very specific properties to it that actually always stay cool so you never have to look for the cool side of the pillow again it can also be quite helpful for women who have hot flashes who might be experiencing those types of things in the middle of the evening as well so this one is called the Medi comfort this was the one with the scoop that helps me snoring this one is the servo comfort that helps with upper neck and back pain the last one is called the eye so cool they can all be found with the sleeve better seal on them so if you go to sleep better org you can find them okay I like this one a lot you get to keep that one you're in your nap no thank you sketchy once you Jim

How to find the Best Travel Neck Pillow?

With literally hundreds of travel pillows on the market, do we really need another one? What is so special about the Total Pillow that makes it worth spending millions on infomercial advertising? Is it really the best travel neck pillow available?

Since they've been flying off our shelves the past few months & I was about to embark on a 3-hour flight, I thought this would be a pretty good opportunity to give one a try and find out. I usually let members of our staff do the testing but since I'm about as picky as anyone when it comes to my pillows, why not let myself be the guinea pig this time?

As far as travel pillows go, the Total Pillow pretty much rocks. This thing is so versatile that if you can't find a position that suits you, I'll relinquish my title as "the most picky pillow person on earth."

If I had to choose between my wife & my Total Pillow as travel companions, I'll take the pillow. It understands my feelings and doesn't talk as much. It will twist & change into about 5 different shapes - and remarkably retains its shape.

Seriously though, I'm a side sleeper so I've never really found a travel pillow that accommodates me. Most of them cradle the neck, pretty much forcing you into a "look straight ahead" position. And most that I have found to be halfway comfortable are too bulky to lug around the airport. This pillow, however, slid perfectly onto my carry-on bag and cradled me just right during flight.

But, if you do prefer the typical "straight ahead" travel pillow position, just fold the Total Pillow in half and you'll find it to be the soft & comfy, giving just the right amount of neck support.

If you're one that has trouble with your back on car rides, twist the Total Pillow into the "knot" position & you'll have a perfect lower back cushion for the trip. Or for a little extra support in your chair at the office, just keep it in the regular position & place it under your bottom
